Key Components of a CPU

ALU (Arithmetic Logic Unit)
- Performs mathematical calculations and logical operations.

Control Unit (CU)
- Directs operations within the CPU, including instruction decoding and execution.

Registers
- Small, high-speed storage locations inside the CPU that temporarily hold data and instructions.
- Examples: Accumulator, Program Counter (PC), and Instruction Register (IR).

Cache
- A small amount of very fast memory located inside or close to the CPU to store frequently used data.
- Levels: L1, L2, L3 (closer to CPU → faster access).
